There's an old comedian's joke called "The Aristocrats". Filthy as you can make it, it was never told to audiences but rather around the proverbial water cooler amongst comedians. Even Jack Benny was known to tell it, and it probably had its roots in Vaudeville/Music Hall. The eponymous film showed many famous comedians telling this joke to a wide audience for the first time in modern times.
It's the kind of joke best told by a guy like Larry David, in my opinion.
